Exhibit with us in March 2026

Luminance Art Gallery is looking for four artists interested in a group exhibition in March 2026.

Why exhibit with Luminance?

Because we’re in a prime location in the heart of Port Macquarie and we work hard and smart on your behalf.

We have a generous 53sqm of gallery space, dedicated lighting, experienced communications and marketing, and a focussed gallery director, Dr Dominic O’Grady.

We exhibit and sell high-quality art by hosting curated exhibitions in a professional gallery that fosters enthusiasm, confidence and trust.

We connect Mid North Coast artists with audiences across Australia. Our supporters are often repeat buyers.

Our location: 2/26 Clarence Street Port Macquarie

Luminance Art Gallery shares a forecourt with Glasshouse Port Macquarie. A few steps away is the Glasshouse Regional Art Gallery and the Port Macquarie Visitor Information Centre. Nearby are some of Port Macquarie’s best bars, cafes and restaurants. The location can’t be beat.

The space

With 53sqm of interior space, Luminance Art Gallery can easily accommodate four artists at a time, with each artist showing at least four artworks. We have a 4-metre window fronting onto the Glasshouse forecourt, interior walls of 12-metres.

We installed a new hanging system and new downlights in March 2025. Every artwork is lit like a jewel.

T&Cs

Our T&Cs are straightforward: an upfront contribution of $350 towards exhibition costs. Sales are at 40% commission. Proceeds go towards covering the rent. We don’t profit from our artists. We do it for love. Seriously.

We ask each exhibiting artist to mind the gallery for one day during the exhibition. It’s a meet-the-artist opportunity. We’re open Thursday to Saturday from 11am - 4pm. You can choose the day you’d like to mind the gallery; it can be one of our existing open days, or another of your choice.

How are costs calculated?

Luminance Gallery is a commercial gallery. We pay $4,125 in rent per month to be in Port Macquarie's CBD. We also pay for utilities, public liability insurance, marketing & staff.

With that in mind, we ask you to consider pricing your work along the following lines:

The sweet spot for large works by established artists is around $1,200. Smaller works at 30cm x 30cm do well when they’re priced at around $250. Mid-sized works do well when priced in consultation with the gallery, generally in the range of $400 - $700. We like to have those discussions with you before you and the gallery commit to an exhibition.

Sales aren’t the only measure of success but we do need to generate income for you and for the gallery to cover expenses. Pricing is a critical component of that equation.

We achieve a strong sales outcome for the artists we represent but we know that’s not the only reason for creating and exhibiting art.

There’s a great deal of satisfaction in connecting directly with an appreciative audience, building your profile, and enhancing your exhibition history. We deliver those outcomes as well.
