Please join us on Saturday 6 September 2025 to launch our new exhibition of paintings by Suzannah Jones and Myffie Coady.

These two artists couldn’t be more different in style yet both are inspired by nature. And if there are rules governing the installation of a two-artist exhibition, we’ve let them slide. That’s thanks to the magic that happens after a new collection is delivered and before it’s installed: relationships reveal themselves, invitations arise, artworks you might have kept separate tell you where they ought to be placed.

Suzannah Jones, From the quiet ebb of the river came a shriek from its banks. Was it an injured fox? A rare bird? My heart in outer space?

Suzannah Jones, Dodging potholdes and roos ... and drivers on the wrong side of the road.

Myffie Coady is a Port Macquarie artist whose paintings are driven by emotion and energy, ‘shaped by how I feel about the subject in front of me - a windswept tree or a quiet stretch of bush. I’m fascinated by the delicate balance between nature’s fragility and strength.’

Suzannah Jones was born in Wingham, grew up in Taree, and now lives in the Dungog Shire, alongside the Dooribang (Williams River).

“The quiet ebb of slow-moving water, or the turbulent and sometimes violent rush of a flood. For a landscape artist, it s a gift to hold this ribbon of water in one’s hand and respond to it intuitively through paint, pen and pastel.”
