Special guests add extra JOY
The four established artists participating in JOY not only bring experience and perspective to this exhibition, they animate JOY with additional colour and energy, if that’s humanly possible.
Jon Dorne’s Boab Tree is a supernaturally joyful, mosaic-like artwork that fully lights-up the room. No electricity needed.
The use of Japanese ink in Yvonne Kiely’s Naked Banksia gives the Australian subject matter an unexpected Zen quality which is both calming and delightful.
The three-dimensional representation of coral, cockatoos & kookaburras by Rose Burke is art in fused glass. They’re highly original, eye-catching and often cheeky.
Malcolm Harding paints with oils in hues of gold and rich crimson, emerald green and cerulean blue, creating magnificent otherworlds you might enter and never want to leave.
I thought at first these established artists would add ballast to JOY. I should have known they would do that and much more…
